Mobjack Rowing Association is excited to offer FREE one day Intro to Rowing sessions during the months of March and April for all Middle Peninsula youth in the 7th through 10th grades. Sessions will be offered on Wednesdays, March 31st, April 7th or 14th from 4 PM to 6 PM at Williams Wharf in Mathews. The sessions will be run by Coach Katelyn James with the help of Head Coach Jon Lothian and the rest of the Mobjack Rowing team. The sessions will be co-ed and are designed for youth who are completely new to rowing. During the session there will be an overview of boat basics, some time to get a feel for our boats at the dock, and answers to any questions. We will also give out information about how to join the team in the spring or summer.
Mobjack has made major investments in its fleet over the past year that have given the team the ability to practice during the pandemic. All Mobjack programs comply with COVID-19 measures imposed by US Rowing as well as mandates put in place by the state of Virginia. We welcome participants of all athletic ability levels who want to learn about an exciting new sport while experiencing the unique pleasures of rowing on the scenic East River. Sessions will be kept small in order to maintain social distancing measures.
