After a cancelation last year, Mobjack Rowing is excited to announce that the Turkey Trot is on for 2021! This is a perfect way to get out of the house and burn off some energy before your day of Thanksgiving feasting!
This year's route will be a little different than in past years. In an effort to keep everyone safe, we have reworked the course so that participants will have less time running on the main road from Mathews High School to Williams Wharf Landing. All runners, bikers, and walkers will gather at Williams Wharf Landing on the morning of Thanksgiving, travel down Williams Wharf, take a left towards town, and then take your next paved left onto Town Point Landing Road. One great aspect of this route is that you get to see not only one, but two beautiful views of the East River and the beginning of the Trot and when you get to the turn around at the end of Town Point Landing Road. In all, this route is just shy of 4 miles. A map of the route is below.
The Trot will start at 8:30 A.M. so get there a little early to park, warm up, and socialize. Remember, there are no entry fees, however, we are asking for non-perishable food donations for Hands Across Mathews. The Mobjack Rowing staff is excited to welcome you the the wharf for this Thanksgiving Day tradition!
