A Great Turkey Trot Had By All!

The Mobjack Rowing Association hosted a record 96 participants at their 16 th Annual Turkey Trot at Williams Wharf. People came from Rhode Island, Colorado, South Carolina, Maryland, Virginia and Mathews to run, bike, walk or stroll the 3.75 mile course from the Wharf to Town Point Landing and back. The start sounded at 8:30 AM with Cameron Stearns taking the top male runner finish (Under 20 minutes) and Kayla Stearns was top female. Trotters ranged from 3 months to two at 75 years old. Mobjack Rowing had 17 current or alumnae rowers participating and all enjoyed a great Thanksgiving start in stunning weather before precious family time and well-earned feasting. MRA collected a small truckload of canned and non-perishable food for distribution to those in need by Hands Across Mathews. MRA president, Tim Ulsaker summed the event up commenting, “This is my 16 th time hosting the Trot. We have come a long way from the 12 original 2007 participants and seeing 96 this year shows a heartwarming tribute to MRA and Williams Wharf for providing this activity to our community.”
